Error Codes Summary

The FINCH Display is designed to not only indicate a malfunction but also provide helpful information about it. This includes error codes and other indications that can assist in the troubleshooting process. It is important to take note of the specific error code that appears on the FINCH display and any other indications to discuss when addressing the breakdown.

Below is a list of all of the potential error codes, listed in numerical order, that you might see on your FINCH display and how to address them.

Error CodeDescriptionSolution
Dashed lines (-----) Communication error between Transmitter and FINCH display Review the wiring to ensure that the wires are in the correct order.
E0000 Could not measure level

Note: If this doesn't resolve the issue, you will need to replace your transmitter.

E0001 Too many samples rejected (too much turbulence) Move Probe to Less Turbulent Area

Note: If this doesn't resolve the issue, you will need to replace your transmitter.

E0002 Internal transmitter error

Update the Transmitter's Firmware.

Note: If this doesn't resolve the issue, you will need to replace your transmitter.

E0010 Internal measurement transmitter error

Update the Transmitter's Firmware.

If this doesn't resolve the issue, there may be water inside your transmitter that causes it to fail. If this is the case, you will need to replace or repair the transmitter.

E0020 Probe and/or Transmitter Connection Issues
  • Tighten transmitter nut that attaches transmitter to probe.
  • Tighten shorting block at bottom of probe.
  • Ensure the inside connection between probe and transmitter is clean. If there is product or debris, wipe this connection down.
  • Ensure there is no product buildup on probe.
  • Ensure probe is not damaged.
  • Check for potential water damage to the transmitter.

E0090 Outdated transmitter firmware version and missing fluid calibration

If this is a brand new unit, this error code appears because the tank has not been filled yet.

  • Update the firmware on your transmitter. The latest firmware removes this error code. (Recommended option)
  • Run your fingers up and down the probe to simulate loading liquid in your tank. This will also get rid of this error.
E0091 Outdated transmitter firmware version and missing fluid calibration
  • Update the TD100 firmware to the latest version.
  • Perform fluid calibration sequence by loading the tank with fluid and allowing the transmitter to self-calibrate.
E0092 Probe and/or Transmitter Connection Issues

Check if the shorting block is correctly installed on the probe.

Check if your probe is longer than the strapping table.

Note: This error will appear if you are connecting the transmitter right to the FINCH (without the probe) for testing purposes.

E0093 Outdated transmitter firmware version and measurement error

Update the TD100 firmware to the latest version.

Check probe and transmitter for damage.
