Overview

TPZ Liquid Level Measurement Systems are constructed of minimal mechanical components. All components are made of high strength, non-corrosive, wear resistant materials.

The Loon

The Loon was designed to monitor a tank level and record/indicate changes in that level. This unit has three different ways of outputting the current tank level. The first is an Up Pulse and Down Pulse Output. Two open collector outputs can indicate either a positive or negative direction of level movement. Each pulse indicates a specific level change of a certain distance. Communications are the second way that the Loon can transmit a level. Using an SV Bus the Loon can have values loaded to it and values received from it. After the host has loaded a value to the Loon, it can keep reading it for constant level updates. An isolated 4 to 20mA current output is also available. The output will be scaled between a low and high level which can be entered via the SV communications bus. A battery input is also available on the Loon. In normal operating conditions, the battery will be trickle charged, but if power fails, the battery will sustain power to the unit to monitor the level until main power is returned.

3310 Level Gauge

The 3310-transmitter kit is the heart of the TPZ system. It contains the digital pulse generator connected to the float through the stainless steel nylon coated measuring line. The transmitter is mounted external to the tank, usually within 12-14 inches of the thief hatch on the supplied mounting bracket. Internal to the tank is the float, stabilizer bracket, stabilizer weight, and stabilizer line. The transmitter is of stainless steel construction for resistance to H2S and other corrosive elements. It is sealed, thus preventing H2S leakage. Four (4) wires provide power and ground connection as well as a pulse up and pulse down line. The pulse lines have been tested to a wiring run of 1000ft. Consult factory if additional assistance is required.

3500 Level Controller

The 3500 Level Controller provides continuous monitoring of liquid levels in tanks using a TPZ 3310 level gauge. Up to eight tanks can be monitored. Along with monitoring it can also control the liquid level by the user programmable Pump Start and Pump Stop set points. High and Low Level Alarm contacts are also provided in the 3500 Level Controller. Depending on user preference the High and Low Level Alarm contacts can alternatively be configured as a High and High-High Level alarm contacts. These contacts can be connected to audible or visual alarms to provide operator alerts. All relay contacts may be set for N.O. or N.C. operation. On loss of power the level last read by the 3500 is stored in battery backed up RAM.
