ClearView Probe Installation
Titan Logix's probes are shipped longer than required to fit all tank installations. Our ClearView probes are 8 ft (96 in) long, and you will need to cut them down to fit inside your tank.
Compatible with the FINCH III display onlyBefore you start
What's in the Box
- ClearView Probe
- Teflon Spacer
- End Cap
Your probe ships with a protective cap on the top of the probe. Keep it in place until the transmitter is mounted, to protect the probe from dirt, oil, and physical damage. Contact Titan Logix if any parts are missing or damaged during shipment.
Important
The Teflon Spacer (middle) stabilizes the center rod and must be installed before the End Cap. The End Cap (right) lets the probe measure fluid down to the bottom and must be in place before the probe is installed in the tank.

Installation
Installation Process
Six steps, once you've determined the proper probe length for your tank dimensions.
► Watch: Cutting and Measuring the ClearView Probe
-
1
Determine Probe Length
The ClearView probe measures volume as soon as fluid touches its bottom. If fluid is below the probe, the FINCH will display 2LO. Cutting the probe to the correct length is critical for an accurate reading.
Measure the height of your tank compartment from the bottom of the tank, inside the anchor cone, to the top edge of the 1" NPT top fitting.
Measure this height on the probe, starting at the bottom of the probe nut to the end of the ClearView probe tube.
Subtract around 3/4 of an inch from this measurement, and mark the outer tube.
Tip: Measure twice to make sure. -
2
Cut Tube
Use a tube cutter to cut the outer tube where you marked the height. Apply light pressure to minimize tube deformation.
Debur the inside of the tube to remove any excess material before installing the Teflon Spacer.
-
3
Install Spacer
Insert the Teflon Spacer onto the probe in the center of the tube, then push it slightly inside the tube.
-
4
Cut Probe
Cut the probe flush with the end of the tube.
Debur the probe.
-
5
Install End Cap
Push the end cap onto the center probe until firmly seated. When properly installed, the crown of the end cap will extend slightly beyond the end of the outer tube.
The ClearView probe is now ready for installing inside the tank compartment.
-
6
Insert Probe into Tank Compartment
Apply Teflon tape to the 1" NPT threads that mate with the top fitting.
Once the probe is cut to fit inside the tank, carefully insert the probe through the top fitting, resting the shorting block inside the anchor cone.
Ensure there is a 1/2" gap between the bottom of the tank (or anchor cone) and the bottom of the probe. Hand tighten the probe into the top fitting, then finish tightening with a 1 3/4" wrench.
Tip: Make sure the probe is not bent or twisted once it has been installed.
