Dual Rod Probe Orientation Best Practices

This article specifically addresses applications involving crude oil.

Proper positioning of the Titan Logix Dual Rod probe after installation in the tank is vital for enhancing the performance of the Titan system in heavy oil applications.

When the dual rods are oriented parallel to the tank, the movement of the thicker product may cause them to touch. This contact can result in the rods sticking together, leading to inaccurate or stuck level readings on your FINCH display.

The probe's orientation is critical in avoiding these problems. After installation, the probe can be adjusted with a wrench to set the rods either horizontally or at a 90-degree angle to the trailer's length. This configuration enables the liquid's movement to flow through each rod separately, preventing the rods from being pushed together.

It is essential to ensure that the probe is aligned correctly following installation to optimize its mechanical performance and significantly minimize the risk of loading issues.
