Coaxial Probe Installation & Programming

Installation Process

Cutting the Coaxial Probe

Titan Logix’s probes are shipped longer than required to fit all tank installations. Our Coaxial probes are 8ft (96in) long, and you will need to cut them down to fit the inside of your tank.

1.  Measure the inside of your tank from the top edge of the 1” NPT top fitting to the bottom of the cone or bracket.

2.  The first cut will be from the outer tube of your Coaxial probe. Measure the outer tube from the threaded end of the probe and add 1” to the measured height of your tank.

TIP:

Coaxial Probe Length Tank height + 1”

3.  Mark this length on the outer tube of your Coaxial probe.

4.  Using a manual pipe cutter, cut the tube at the marked length. Do not use a die grinder.

5.  Leaving the shorting block in place prevents damage to the center rod while cutting.

6.  Then cut at the end of the shorting block to have the correct measurements.

7.  Inspect the center rod through the holes in the tube to ensure that the rod is centered and not touching the tube.

Installing the Coaxial Probe

1.
Apply Teflon tape or anti-seize compound to the 1" NPT threads that mate with the top fitting.

2. Once the probe is cut to fit inside the tank, carefully insert the probe through the top fitting, resting the shorting block inside the anchor cone.

 2.  Ensure there is a ½” gap between the bottom of the tank and the bottom of the shorting block.

3.
Hand tighten the probe into the top fitting, then finish tightening with a 1 3/4" wrench.

TIP:

Make sure the probe is not bended or twisted once it has been installed.
