How to create a Strapping Table in SensorLink?

Overview

A strapping table is created by the tank manufacturer to translate the depth measurements into the calibrated volume of liquid for a tank compartment.

A "Strapping Table" can also be referred to as:

  • Tank Gauging Chart
  • Tank Calibration Chart
  • Dip Chart

This data is then added into SensorLink for you to program each compartment's transmitter with this information.

Tip:

We recommend saving this file on your computer for you to be able to refer to at a later time or to be used for a new installation on an identical compartment.

Gathering Information

  1. Verify that you have the correct strapping table for programming your specific TD Transmitter. You will require to program each individual transmitter, which will be installed on each compartment of your tank/trailer.
  2. Confirm the additional settings required to program your transmitter in SensorLink.
    • Probe type
    • Offset Measurement
    • Spill alarm level
    • High-High alarm level or volume
    • Display resolution
    • Optional Sump depth
    • Optional 4-20mA points

Building your strapping chart:

SensorLink is where you will incorporate your High-High and Spill alarm levels, as well as your offset measurement, probe type, etc. This information is programmed into each transmitter, and displayed on the FINCH II Display. These configurations are based on the specific probe you are using.

Click the specific probe image you are working with to complete the questions required to build out your strapping table in SensorLink.
