FINCH II-6W is stuck in compartment 6, displaying five dashed lines, even with fewer than six compartments. To resolve this, you must program the FINCH II-6W.
Issue: FINCH II-6W is stuck in compartment 6, displaying five dashed lines, even with fewer than six compartments.
Cause: This indicates no transmitter is connected to compartment 6 or there is a communication error.
Solution: The FINCH II-6W is pre-programmed for a 6-compartment setup. If your system has fewer compartments, you must reprogram the FINCH II-6W to match your configuration. For example, if you have four compartments, you can program the FINCH II-6W to recognize only these four, which makes the Finch ignore compartments 5 and 6.
Programming Steps:
- Obtain the Finch programming kit
- Connect the kit:
- Wire the programming kit cables to the FINCH II-6W and your computer according to the wiring diagrams provided: Programming Kit 1-Page
- Open SensorLink
- If not installed, download it here: https://www.titanlogix.com/support/downloads/
- Configure SensorLink
- Click on the FINCH II icon on the left side of the window
- Select your COM port and set the FINCH II Model Number to Finch II-6W. Then, specify the number of compartments to enable.
- Enable RCM if applicable by checking the Enable RCM box
- Program the FINCH II-6W
- Click the Program button at the bottom of the page to complete programming
Following these steps should resolve the issue and ensure your Finch II-6W operates correctly with your specific number of compartments.
