# How to update the firmware on my Transmitter?
New features for the TD100 Transmitter are implemented through firmware updates. To ensure optimal performance and functionality of your Titan system, it is essential to update to the latest firmware version whenever they becomes available.
**Tip:**
Make sure you have a stable internet connection while using SensorLink. This connection is essential for downloading the latest firmware files. If prompted to update SensorLink upon launching the software, please accept the update to ensure you have the most current version.
### Using SensorLink
**1.** Once the programming kit is **connected to the transmitter** and power is turned on, launch **SensorLink**. SensorLink may prompt you to update the app. Accept the update.
**Tip:**
Refer to the following information on how to connect your programming cables:

**2.** On the left side of the screen, select **TD100**.
3\. At the top of the screen, click **Firmware** **Upgrade**.
4\. Click the **Select Latest Version** button to load the latest firmware version.
**4.** Select the **Com Port** from the drop-down list. This is the USB connection from the programming kit to the computer.

**5.** The power to the transmitter needs to be turned off and then powered back on before you can continue. This process is different depending on how you are connected to the transmitter using your programming cables.
- Connected to the transmitter through the FINCH display? You cycle the power through the vehicle's battery power. CLICK HERE to learn more.
- Connected to the transmitter through the alligator clips directly connected to the transmitter? Press the black button on the programming cable. (refer to image below) CLICK HERE to learn more.
**6.** Click the **Upgrade** button from SensorLink. Ensure you click this button right after cycling the power to the transmitter.
**7.** The firmware **upgrade** progress is now shown from a green progress bar at the bottom of the screen.
**CAUTION:**
**DO NOT** disconnect the power, unplug the programming kit or close SensorLink while updating. Interrupting this updating process can cause damage and/or corrupt the transmitter.
**7.** Once the update has been completed, you can **disconnect** the programming kit from the hardware and your computer.
**8.** Click the **Home** button to return to the main TD100 Configuration screen.
