How to set your Fill and Fall Alarm? (video)

The FINCH II Display offers an optional Fill and Fall Alarm feature to help control the volumes used to fill or drain your tank. The Fill setting is to help prevent the tank from exceeding the HH alarm volume.

The Fill and Fall alarms can be assigned to a specific relay when the alarm is activated, which is set up in the TD Transmitter Programming. Examples of relays for the Fill and Fall Alarms include having your external horn or lights turn on as a warning. The alarms can also be assigned to a pump relay where the pump or valve will be controlled with the loading and unloading process.

Setting the Fill and/or Fall Alarms

The Fall and Fill alarms are configured and managed from the front panel buttons of the display. These values are determined by the Operator and can be set anywhere between zero and the HH Alarm volume. These are optional alarms, and are not required to be set in order to utilize your Titan System.

Tip:

The Fill and Fall alarm setting can be set independently on each compartment. Select the specific compartment by pressing the COMP SELECT button on the display and then complete the following steps for that specific compartment.

1.  To set the Fill or Fall Alarm, first select the compartment for the Fill or Fall alarm setting, then press and hold the up or down button on the display.

  • Fill Alarm = press and hold down the ▲ button.
  • Fall Alarm = press and hold down the ▼ button.

2.  The display will either flash “FILL” or FALL” when the button has been released to indicate which alarm is being set.

3.  After a few seconds, the display will show the current Fill or Fall Alarm volume setting.

4.  The current setting can then be adjusted up or down by pressing the appropriate ▲ or ▼ button on the front panel. Each button press changes the level by one unit. Holding the button down will rapidly change the setting.

5.  After 5 seconds of no button presses, the Finch Display will return to the previous mode, either Monitor or Display Mode.

Activating Fall Alarm

When the Fall volume is reached, the alarm becomes triggered and any assigned relays become activated.

1.  When the liquid level drops to or below the Fall Alarm volume setting, the Fall alarm will become activated.

2.  The display flashes between the tank's volume amount and “FALL”.

3.  If a relay is set up in the programming of the TD Transmitter for the Fall Alarm, that specific relay will become activated.

4.  Press the ACK button on the display to deactivate the Fall alarm. The Fall alarm continues to blink on the FINCH II display until someone acknowledges the alarm.

5.  The display returns back to normal with the values not flashing and any relay alarms become deactivated.
