How to Preform an Offset Calibration on my FINCH II?

Understand the difference between performing Offset Calibration and just entering into Offset Calibration Mode on your system.

FINCH II Offset Calibration

With the FINCH II display it is possible to put the display into CAL mode using 2 different methods.

The easiest way to initiate CAL mode in the FINCH II is to hold in the four function buttons on the display front. These are the COMP SELECT, ACK, HORN BYPASS, DIM/SLEEP buttons. Hold and press the buttons simultaneously until the word CAL is displayed on the FINCH II. Release the buttons.

Another method is press and hold an arrow button and turn on the power. Hold the button until the word CAL is displayed and release the arrow button.

The offset calibration can be easily performed by filling the tank with measured amounts of liquid, 6” minimum.

Place the system into CAL mode and then adjust the display using the arrow buttons up or down to match the same volume as the liquid in the tank.

Offset Calibration Mode

There are some cases where just entering into Offset Calibration Mode, without calibrating your volume settings, will adjust your system to normal level measurements.

The following steps are used as a troubleshooting process to help reset any alarms or address issues with your system.

1.
Power on your TD System.

2.   Choose the compartment that is triggering the alarm or issue.

On the FINCH II display, the compartment number appears to the left of the red 5 digit display. The example below shows Compartment 1 is stuck in Spill.

3.   Press and hold the four gray buttons on the display until CAL starts to flash on the display.

  • COMP SELECT
  • HORN BYPASS
  • ACK
  • DIM SLEEP

4.   Releasing all the buttons when CAL starts to flash on the display initiates Offset Calibration mode.

5. Wait for the display to show a volume.

NOTE:

It is important to ensure you do not press any other buttons or the up or down arrows to adjust the display volume. You are only wanting to have your system enter into Offset Calibrate Mode, but you are not adjusting your volume levels in this process.

6.   Once the volume is showing on the FINCH display, you can then power off your TD System and then power it back on.

This process should return your system to normal level measurements.
