How to Create a Readable Strapping Table From a SensorLink STB File

This is how to create a printable strapping table or calibration chart from a SensorLink File. It’s useful for testing or offset calibrating the TD100 transmitter in the field. There’s no need for the laptop to be nearby.

On the computer you will use to create the printable table, you’ll need SensorLink and Microsoft Word installed. Of course, you need the STB strapping table file for conversion.

Do not press any keys or click the mouse between each step.

The Steps

  1. Open the SensorLink app.
  2. Import the strapping table file to convert.
  3. In the strapping table of depth and volume columns, Click in any cell to select it. The row will now be highlighted.

  4. On the keyboard, press Ctrl A. That means to press and hold the Ctrl key, press the “a” key and then release both keys. All of the depth and volume entries in the table are now highlighted.
  5. On the keyboard, press Ctrl C. That means to press and hold the Ctrl key, press the “c” key and then release both keys. You have now copied the highlighted table.
  6. Open Microsoft Word and start with a new Blank document.
  7. Using the mouse, Right-Click on a blank part of the new document.
  8. In the pop-up menu, Click on Paste (Keep Text Only). You have now pasted all the depth and volume values from the strapping table into a Word document.

  9. Click anywhere on the text in the document and Press Ctrl A. The newly pasted text is now highlighted.
  10. On the Menu Bar, Click the Insert Tab. The next steps transform the bare text into an easy to read table.
