What is a K-Factor?
The K-factor is a number that represents how many pulses are generated by the turbine per unit of liquid flow. This value is specific to the turbine and is typically provided in the product specifications of the turbine you are using. Setting the correct K-factor ensures accurate flow measurements.
Step-by-Step Guide:
- Enter Programming Mode:
Press either button while in normal operation to enter K-factor programming mode. The display will show the current K-factor value starting at the ones position.
- Set the K-Factor
- Ones Position: Press the INC DIG (Increment) button until the desired number appears.
- Change Position: Press the SEL DIG (Select) button to move to the next digit (tens, hundreds, etc.).
- Repeat the process for each position until the desired K-factor is set.
- Save the K-Factor
Once the correct K-factor is displayed, press and hold both the SEL DIG and INC DIG buttons for 5 seconds. Release when the display counts down from three.
Note: If no buttons are pressed for 90 seconds, the unit will return to normal mode, and changes will not be saved.
Example:
To set a K-factor of 648:
Press either the SEL DIG or INC DIG button to enter programming mode.
Press INC DIG to set the ones position to 8.
Press SEL DIG, then INC DIG to set the tens to 4.
Press SEL DIG, then INC DIG to set the hundreds to 6.
Continue to cycle through any remaining positions and ensure they are zero.
Press and hold both the SEL DIG and INC DIG buttons for 5 seconds. Release when the display counts down from three.
