FINCH III Troubleshooting Checklist
FINCH III E0901 Wiring Checklist
An E0901 error code means the FINCH III is unable to detect any connected transmitters. Until at least one transmitter is detected, you will not be able to configure the system using Titan Install.

Use the following checklist to inspect the system wiring and restore communication with the transmitters.
Step 1: Check the Titan Junction Box
Is a Titan Junction Box installed?
Yes: Complete the checks below.
No: Continue to Step 2.
Inspect the Titan Junction Box
1. With the FINCH III powered ON, open the Titan Junction Box lid.
2. Confirm the following:
-
The switch for each connected transmitter is set to ON.
-
All unused transmitter switches are set to OFF.
-
The SV LED is blinking red for each connected transmitter.
- The black, white and red wires are secure and connected to the correct terminals.

3. After verifying the wiring and switch positions, power cycle the FINCH III.
❓Does the FINCH III still show E0901?❓
Yes: Continue to Step 2.
No: Rescan the FINCH III using Titan Install and complete the system configuration.
Step 2: Check the Wiring Inside the FINCH III
Complete this step if:
- You have a single-compartment tank without a Titan Junction Box; or
- You completed Step 1 and the FINCH III still shows E0901.
Inspect the FINCH III wiring
1. Power OFF the FINCH III.
WARNING
Turn OFF power to the FINCH III before opening the metal IS lid inside the FINCH III enclosure. Opening this IS metal lid while the system is powered may cause the IS fuse to blow.
2. Loosen the two screws at the top of the display and carefully open the FINCH III enclosure.
Open the IS (Intrinsically safe) metal plate by loosing the three screws.
3. Confirm that the black, white and red SV Bus wires are secure and connected to the correct location.
4. Securely place the IS metal plate back on and tighten the screws.
5. Close the FINCH III enclosure.
6. Power ON the FINCH III and check the SV LED:
-
- Blinking red: The transmitters are detected. (This is what you want)
- Solid red: The transmitters can't be detected.
- Not illuminated: The transmitters are not receiving power.
7. After verifying the wiring, power cycle the FINCH III.
❓Does the FINCH III still show E0901?❓
Yes: Continue to Step 3.
No: Rescan the FINCH III using Titan Install and complete the system configuration.
Step 3: Check the TD100 Transmitter Wiring
If you completed Step 2 and the FINCH III still shows E0901, inspect the wiring at each connected TD100 transmitter.
1. Power OFF the FINCH III.
WARNING
Turn OFF power to the FINCH III before removing a transmitter from the top of the tank. Completing this step while the system is powered may cause the IS fuse to blow.
2. Following all applicable site and working-at-height safety procedures, access each transmitter installed on the tank.
3. At every connected transmitter, confirm that the black, white and red wires are:
-
- Securely connected.
- Connected to the correct location.
- Free from visible damage or loose connections.
4. After checking every transmitter, power cycle the FINCH III.
❓Does the FINCH III still show E0901?❓
Yes: Contact Titan Support for further troubleshooting.
No: Rescan the FINCH III using Titan Install and complete the system configuration.
