Gauge Enable Function on the FINCH 5332E

On a standard FINCH 5332E Level Monitor, turning the front-panel Gauge Enable switch off places the display into OFF Mode.

When the Gauge Enable switch is turned off, the PTO (Gauge Enable) function is disabled. After approximately 30 seconds, the FINCH 5332E display will show "OFF" to indicate that OFF Mode has been activated.

OFF Mode Operation

In OFF Mode, all relay outputs are disabled. This prevents alarm outputs from activating while the vehicle is in motion.

If the system remains powered while the vehicle is moving and a tank alarm condition occurs:

• High-High (HH) alarms will not activate.
• Fill alarms will not activate.
• Spill alarms are also inhibited from activating relay outputs while OFF Mode is active.

However, if a Spill condition is detected while the vehicle is in motion, the display stores the event internally. When the Gauge Enable switch is turned back on, the SPILL alarm may begin flashing, even though the alarm was previously inhibited during vehicle operation.

Purpose of OFF Mode

OFF Mode is intended to prevent nuisance alarms and relay activation during transport while allowing the system to continue monitoring tank conditions. Any abnormal condition detected during vehicle operation can then be reviewed once the Gauge Enable switch is returned to the ON position.
